Modern Slavery Statement

“At PeopleUnboxed, we take a firm, zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to protecting and respecting human rights, fully supporting the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We will not knowingly trade or partner with any organisation which knowingly supports or is involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.”

Introduction

Modern slavery is the severe exploitation of individuals for personal or commercial gain, often hidden in plain sight. It encompasses various forms of abuse, including forced labour, sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, forced marriage, debt bondage and human trafficking.

Victims are left in situations of exploitation that they can’t refuse or leave because of threats, violence, coercion, deception and/or abuse of power.

Despite its covert nature, modern slavery affects millions globally, including within the UK. Traffickers prey on vulnerable individuals, exploiting their need for employment or safety.

Our purpose and commitments

Our mission is to make a difference to people’s lives in the workplace and beyond. We do this by inspiring and empowering individuals and organisations to transform the way they work.

At PeopleUnboxed we are, and will always remain, committed to doing the right thing. We champion the role people development within workplaces can play in advancing the happiness and wellbeing of employees, communities and of society as a whole.

We strongly believe in supporting organisations to create psychologically safe and inclusive cultures, where people are valued and respected. All human rights matter; there is no place in any business for exploitative practices.

We are committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking. We believe people have the right to feel protected from modern slavery, and we will not knowingly trade or partner with any organisation which knowingly supports or is involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.

Our people

We treat people with fairness, courtesy and respect, and we work with others who do the same. We create an inclusive environment and celebrate diversity with our people, partners, and clients.

Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion.

As an equal opportunities’ employer, we’re committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our employees. We want all our employees to feel confident that they can expose wrongdoing without any risk to themselves.

Our clients and services

We are committed to acting ethically, transparently and with integrity in all our transactions and relationships. We believe in doing the right thing now and working together towards building a better future.

We put everything into what we do, earning the loyalty and trust of our clients and establishing effective long-term partnerships. We get to know the culture and people of the businesses we support, so we can provide the best people-centred advice and guidance.

We partner with other businesses, large and small, as well as freelancers, to bring the best the industry has to offer. Our partners are handpicked for their shared values and ethical approach, meaning you can partner with us as your trusted advisers, and know you’re in safe hands.

Training

We are committed to maintaining an honest and ethical culture. Modern Slavery is part of the core learning requirement for all employees working for PeopleUnboxed, with new starters required to complete the course within their first 12 weeks induction. We have designed a comprehensive eLearning course that covers the key fundamentals of modern slavery and human trafficking. The course supports people to recognise the signs of abuse, and how this is crucial in identifying and supporting victims.
